The Aipas M1 Pro is a heavy-duty fat-tire bike that is still easy to get on and off. Its step-through frame sits on 26 × 4-inch tires with an adjustable 100 mm fork and a rear shock, so it soaks up gravel, dirt paths and broken pavement better than almost anything else in our lineup.
The 750 W rear-hub motor peaks at 1,800 W with 110 Nm of torque, among the strongest figures we've seen, and Aipas says it climbs grades up to 23°. The removable 48 V 17.5 Ah battery (840 Wh) is one of the biggest here; Amazon quotes up to 85 miles with pedal assist and a 4–6 hour charge. A headlight, a brake-activated rear light, a horn and 7-speed gearing round it out.
The trade-offs are weight and brakes. At 88 lb it's the heaviest bike we review, hard to lift onto a rack or carry upstairs, and this version uses mechanical disc brakes; the 936 Wh version with hydraulic brakes costs about $160 more. Aipas also doesn't list a maximum load or top speed.
With 325 ratings and a 4.4 average, 85% of buyers give it 4 or 5 stars.
Best for: Riders who want maximum comfort and climbing power on rough roads and trails, with a frame that's easy to step through, and who don't need to lift the bike.
