The Ranger 2.0 tries to do everything at once, and does it surprisingly well. It folds like a compact bike, but packs a 750 W rear hub motor with 85 Nm of torque and a 600 Wh battery, numbers you usually see on full-size bikes.
The 20 × 4-inch fat tires give it grip on sand, mud, gravel and even light snow, and together with the front fork and an oversized padded seat they make it comfortable on rough streets. The step-through frame makes it easy to get on, which buyers with limited mobility point out as a plus.
Amazon lists up to 60 miles of range and 28 mph top speed. At that speed it goes beyond Class 2 limits, so check the rules in your area. Integrated front and rear lights and a rear rack come standard, and the bike is UL 2849 certified.
The trade-off is weight and frame material: it's built on a high-carbon steel frame and Heybike doesn't publish the weight, so expect a heavy bike even when folded. The warranty is one year.
Best for: Riders who want one bike for city errands and weekend trails, and who need to fold it to store it or carry it in a car or RV.
