The ANCHEER Hummer shows how far budget e-bikes have come. For about $230 you get a 48 V, 499 Wh removable battery, a 500 W motor that peaks at 750 W, and an aluminum frame on big 27.5-inch wheels, which roll over cracks and roots more easily than the 26-inch wheels on most cheap e-bikes.
Amazon lists 25–55 miles per charge and a fast charger that fills the battery in about 3.5 hours, roughly half the usual time. You get five assist levels, a throttle with cruise control, 21-speed gearing, a lockable suspension fork and an LCD that shows error codes, which helps if something goes wrong. The whole bike is certified to UL 2849.
At 52 lb it's one of the lightest bikes we review, but the 2.1-inch tires and front-only suspension make it a trail and commuter bike rather than an off-road machine, the 265 lb maximum load is on the low side, and ANCHEER doesn't publish its top speed or brake type.
